TRF terrorists involved in killing of Sumo driver killed in encounter in Kashmir on October 5: Police

Srinagar: A TRF terrorist involved in the killing of a sumo driver on October 5 in Bandipora’s Shahgund area was killed in an encounter with soldiers in Hajin area of ​​north Kashmir’s Bandipora, police said on Monday.

An encounter broke out at Gund Jahangir in Hajin area of ​​Bandipora in the early hours of today when the police, CRPF and Army in a joint operation cordoned off the area after receiving information about the presence of terrorists in the village.

IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar said that TRF terrorist Imtiyaz Ahmed Dar was killed in the encounter.

He said that Imtiaz was involved in the murder of sumo driver Mohammad Shafi Lone in Shahgund area of ​​Bandipora on October 5.

The police had busted a militant module of the TRF yesterday by arresting four extremist associates involved in the conspiracy behind the murder of the Sumo driver.

On 5 October, terrorists shot dead three civilians – Lone, prominent Kashmiri Pandit businessman and chemist ML Bindu and non-local street vendor Virendra Paswan from Bihar – at three locations in the Valley. While Bindru and Paswan were killed in Srinagar, Lone was shot dead in north Kashmir’s Bandipora.

After busting a TRF terrorist module yesterday, the police had said that the investigation found that the killing was done at the behest and direction of TRF handler Lala Umar resident of Pakistan.

Meanwhile, a terrorist was killed and a policeman was injured in a separate encounter at Khagund in Verinag area of ​​South Kashmir’s Anantnag district early today.
