Two terrorists killed in encounter in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag, Bandipora districts


Srinagar: Two terrorists were killed and a policeman was injured on Monday during an encounter in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag and Bandipora districts.

An official said the security forces had launched a cordon and search operation at Khagund in Verinag area of ​​Anantnag district following information about the presence of terrorists.

He said the search operation turned into an encounter when the terrorists opened fire on the security forces, who retaliated.

The police officer said that one terrorist has been killed, while one policeman has been injured.

He said that the operation is on.

In another encounter, a Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist was killed in another encounter at Gundjahangir in Hajin area of ​​Bandipora district.

“The slain terrorist has been identified as Imtiyaz Ahmed Dar who is affiliated to the banned terrorist organization Lashkar (TRF).

He was involved in the recent civilian killing at Shahgund Bandipora,” tweeted Inspector General of Police, Kashmir, Vijay Kumar.
