YouTube brings ‘continue watching’ feature to the web, lets users resume videos they’ve left on their phones

YouTube is the most popular video streaming platform in the world. Like many other sites, YouTube also works as both an app and a website, i.e. users can play YouTube on the web and download its app on their smartphones as well. According to reports, recently YouTube has released a new feature that users were eagerly waiting for.

With YouTube’s ‘continue watching’ feature, users can now continue a video on the web version of YouTube if they skip a video on the mobile app. That is, till now if users used to stop a video on YouTube’s mobile app, then they had to re-open the mobile app to watch it further. But now they can watch that video on the website.

As soon as you open YouTube on your computer or laptop, you’ll see a small video at the bottom right corner of the YouTube website. This is the same video you were watching on your mobile app. You’ll also see the text ‘Continue watching’ beside the title of the video on MiniPlayer.

The feature was first reported by 9to5Google, which said that users will be able to continue their videos on any YouTube platform where they left off.

Keep in mind that this feature will work on YouTube’s mini player. In this you will see a play button on the mini video player, clicking on which will play your video and that window will be taken anywhere on the screen, then you will reach the full video page.

It is worth noting that this feature will soon be available for both Android and iOS users. YouTube is also testing a number of new features that are likely to launch soon.
